Glenn Steeves

Mr. Steeves is the manager of training with the City of Toronto’s Municipal Licensing and Standards Division - Training Section

• Glenn has been employed with the City of Toronto for the past 31years

• He currently manages a team of 24 professional Training and Development Specialists and is responsible for the planning, designing, developing and delivering of all City of Toronto, Council approved taxicab driver/owner training programs. Approximately 4,500 students attend these courses annually.

• Glenn also leads the Municipal Licensing and Standards Divisional Training Team, comprised of Management and Section training staff and is responsible for the development and delivery of Municipal Standards Officer training.

• He is member of the Board of Directors of the International Association of Transportation Regulators

• In 2004 Glenn and his Training Team won two (2) prestigious awards:
  1. The Canadian Award for Training Excellence from the Canadian Society for Training and Development for program design of the City of Toronto’s Ambassador Taxicab Training Course; and
  2. The Public Sector Quality Fair 2004 Silver Award from the Government of Ontario’s Management Board Secretariat – for the Marketing and Licensing of Toronto’s Taxicab Drivers and Owners Training Courses to other Cities and Municipalities

The City of Toronto through its Municipal Licensing & Standards Division issues licenses and monitors vehicular and stationary businesses and trades to ensure compliance with all applicable municipal by-laws.
