Director of the Passenger Transportation Regulatory Division

Mr. Mora is the Director of the Passenger Transportation Regulatory Division for the Consumer Services Department of Miami-Dade County, Florida. This Division is responsible for the regulation of six for-hire transportation categories:
   • Taxicabs
   • Limousines
   • Passenger Motor Carriers (Jitneys, Tours Buses and Vans)
   • Private School Buses
   • Special Transportation Service Carriers
   • Non-Emergency Medical Transportation

This responsibility is executed through the licensing of Chauffeurs, the for-hire companies, and the inspection of the vehicles, to include the yearly testing and sealing of taximeters. These tasks are completed with a staff of 52 employees, classifications ranging from Enforcement Officers; Trainers; Vehicle Inspectors; Clerical and Administrative personnel with an annual budget of 5.1million dollars.

Joe is also responsible for the licensing and regulation of Emergency Ambulance Services, both public and private.

Mr. Mora has been employed with Miami Dade County since July 1980. He has held various positions within the County to include Chief of Animal Care and Control for nine years.

Mr. Mora is a graduate of Nova University with a degree in Business Administration.
